2CheckOut.com Issue and HTTP Compression

I have recently had an issue with the Risk department of 2CheckOut.com (an authorized reseller for products of my company). They have been stating that they couldn’t view our Web site at all from their internal network, although the Web site was live and working well on many computers we have tested from different parts of the World, with different browsers. The fact that our Web site worked correctly was also confirmed by many of our customers which could and did download public files from our Web site. 2CheckOut.com also accepted that the site worked but only if they used HTTPS instead of HTTP.

The error displayed at 2CO side was: “Content Encoding Error: The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.”

The resolution was as follows: Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager / Expand Server node / Properties on Web sites node / Service tab / HTTP Compression group box / Uncheck both compress boxes.
